I know the Whistle stop was mentioned, but the warehouse nightclub built a rather large stage in the mid 90's and featured some pretty cool acts such as War, Botfly, Kid Rock, Insane Clown Posse and GWAR to name a few. Unfortunatly, they were not able to feature many local bands due to the proximity to Club Soda. (Apparently bands were threatened with blacklisting at Soda if they played the warehouse.) Well, now both venues are gone and it looks like Kraftbrau brewery will also go the way of the Dodo due to being forced out of the building they have been leasing for the past 11 years. I hope Kzoo folks like karaoke and solo accoustic music, 'cause thats about all that will be left....... --- end of previous message ---

Ah yes, the dwindling money at Club Soda. Luckily Overman put our money from Soda gigs into oil futures and were able to steady-state it through the pay cut post-Missias.
Really, you got PAID? I always feel like the bar bill was underwater. Really really getting the $20 or $60 at Soda was the funnest money I've ever earned.

Back in the day I had heard through the grapevine that This threat was also extended to bands that played at Missias. My band played at each of these venues and was not blacklisted, but the $$ sure seemed to get meager at Soda after we played Missias. I can't say that there is a correlation, because crowds in general were getting smaller by that time too. --- end of previous message ---
